The Top 4 Performances From the CMT Awards

The 2017 Country Music Television Awards did not disappoint with the live performances, there was so much talent within those Music City Center walls. Here are the top 4 performances from one of country music's biggest nights:

Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban
"The Fighter"

Right before the lights rose on Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood, an announcer told the audience, "The Fighter," would be performed in a way that's never been done before. Carrie and Keith began the song far away from each other on small stages, and as the song progressed, the two made their way to each other, bringing down the house with their insane vocals. In fact, it's the one performance that brought the quickest standing ovation from the section of fellow country artists. Watch their performance below, and the standing ovation captured from inside:

Jason Derulo and Luke Bryan "Strip It Down" and "Want To Want Me"

If you missed their CMT Crossroads performance, it was unreal. I also had the opportunity to attend the taping, and these two had a blast swapping lyrics, and it's clear why they won CMT Performance of The Year. In fact the two performers became close friends after that CMT Crossroad taping, as reported by people, and Luke Bryan event took Jason Derulo hunting and fishing before the CMT Awards.

Derulo: “I came over [to Bryan’s house] in shiny white shoes and a white outfit, and he’s all,

Bryan: ‘Oh boy, you’re going to get that dirty!’ [and] gave me some new clothes.” via People

Kelsea Ballerini "Legends"

Ballerini released this song the morning of the CMT Awards, and then performed it for the first time ever that evening at the CMT Awards. Loved that she kicked off her heels, and performed the new hit barefoot outside the Music City Center.

Lady Antebellum and Earth, Wind & Fire

The CMT Awards with Lady Antebellum and Earth, Wind, & Fire bringing down the house. The two groups performed in a sea of confetti flying, and was the perfect ending to a fabulous award show.
